FairMoney

Head of Design | 2021 - current

FairMoney is Nigeria's biggest digital lender, I joined the team when they were transitioning into a digital bank and expanding their services beyond loans. With just one designer in the team back then my role has been of a player and a coach.


As a manager I have helped hire the right people, setup growth and coaching frameworks that have helped the team grow and succeed. I have setup processes within and outside the team for a more effective collaboration.


As a designer I have also worked on core design tools critical for the team's success including the design system and laying down the foundations for UX and visual design. This has helped us rebrand and redesign the app and make it scalable.


In my time here, the team has transformed the app into a digital bank with new features and products including banking and savings

Gojek

Product Design Lead | 2017 - 2021

Gojek is a super app in South East Asia. I worked on their financial services arm as a lead designer for GoPay and the design manager for GoFinance (now GoTo Financial)


GoFinance was a new initiative within Gojek which meant I had the opportunity to take multiple products from 0 to 1 including:

• Gopaylater (Gojek's BNPL)

• Gopaylater Cicilan (EMI based BNPL)

• GoModal (lending for merchants)

• Swadaya (financial products platform for drivers)

• GoSave (a gamified savings product)

• GoTrust (internal credit score for users)

• GoPay 4.0 (GoPay's independent app)


In the 4 years I spent at Gojek we had successfully taken most of these products live and optimized them for scale. I also hired and managed the initial design team of about 4 people.

Kruzr

Product Design and Growth | 2016 - 2017

A smart driving assistant for individuals and fleets. Being in the early team of just 5 people I wore multiple hats and led partnerships and growth along with product design


Key highlights:

• Redesigned the app for a B2C launch of the product

• Formed alliances with three leading insurance companies – SBI General Insurance, Tata AIG and Liberty Videocon, bringing in a revenue of $175K (approx.)

• These partnerships opened up a new user base of around 3.5 million

Partnerships and Growth | 2015 - 2016

A comprehensive suite for financial products for individuals and businesses in India. Here again I wore multiple hats and led partnerships along with digital marketing and design.

Key highlights

• Partnered with major banks and payroll companies including HDFC, ICICI, IDBI, Ramco, Peoplestrong among others accounting for 9% of total sales done

• Designed marketing and social media collateral and white labeled microsites for these partners

• Executed online(email and social media) and BTL marketing campaigns with the partners to promote the alliance to their user base

• Worked on the the designs for for the TDS product website clearTDS

• Worked on SEO and optimising organic traffic to the websites resulting in a net increase of about 26% in the traffic

• Worked on paid marketing initiative like SEM, GDN and Facebook campaigns making it the second highest source of sales ~ 14%

Easy way for photographers to manage their portfolio and clients

Key highlights:

• Worked with the core team on marketing strategy and execution

• Worked on organic and inorganic mediums to increase trials and conversions, including SEO, SEM, and content

• Organized events to promote the product in the community

• Set up the blog and content strategy

• Increased user base by 29% in three months

Co-founder, Design and Business Development | 2010 - 2013

An initiative to cater to small companies in bringing them online via web portals

Key highlights

• Responsible for sales, business development, and designs

• Worked on the design of websites, web portals and online management systems for the clients

• Onboarded over 100 clients across India for development and maintenance of their software

• Doubled revenue after the first year of operations (₹2 million)

• Opened new revenue streams by consulting clients for digital marketing strategies and branding

• Set-up and led the initial team of 8 people for sales and business development

• Major clients included Papa Johns, Arian Beer, E-Express Dart among others
